The expression “don’t stay stuck in the past but live in the moment” truly captures the essence of this movie. Without revealing too much, it skillfully navigates through different periods, depicting the remarkable love story of Almut & Tobias. Their journey through time underscores the importance of cherishing every moment and not letting any second go to waste. While I typically struggle to follow movies with time loops, this one managed to captivate my attention, and I believe it can do the same for you. Even though the film goes back and forth, the couple still can say that “we live in time.”
Making Memories in We Live in Time
When you realize what’s important to you, you have to decide for yourself. You’re the one who has to live with the consequences of your decisions. Almut wasn’t sure if she’d survive her diagnosis. She told Tobias she’d rather have six fun-filled months than 12 difficult ones. She wanted her life to mean something and be proud of what she accomplished. Do you think she was wrong for that, considering the possibility that she might not survive? Tobias and Almut spent those next 6 months fighting, loving, supporting, and embracing each other …all until ….
Are We Enough, Darling?
When Almut made a regrettable decision in the film, Tobias discovered it and a heated argument ensued. Despite this, their relationship was characterized by the ability to resolve disagreements before going to bed. They always talked it out, and the tension would ease, allowing them to move forward. It’s rare to find a connection like that in many relationships today, where a heated debate can lead to compromise and support. Tobias felt that he and their daughter were not enough for her when he discovered what she was doing, resulting in a heated exchange of words between them.

With the ability to make impactful moves and illuminate the path for your desires, you can leave a lasting impression. Take your position, prepare yourself, and take action. That’s exactly what Almet did. Do you believe she fought and survived, or do you think she fought until the very end?
