“Juror #2” …Should the Innocent Be Punished – or is Self-Guilt Punishment Enough?
“Venom III: The Last Dance” … Sucking & Separating From Eddie
Film Synopsis of “Venom III: The Last Dance“→ Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) & Venom are on the run! Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last and final dance …
“SMILE 2” … These Smiles Never Go Out of Style!
Film Synopsis of “SMILE 2“→ About to embark on a world tour, global Pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying & inexplicably events! Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors & the pressures of fame, she is forced to face her past if she wants to survive her present! Will she? We ALL know you can’t just bat your eyelashes & “smile” your way out of this one now, don’t we?
Stop Smiling at Me!!!!
This film was definitely a significant improvement over the first one. However, I strongly believe that Dr. Rose Cotter should not have died in the first film, as her character set the stage for these movies. With the success of the SMILE sequel, I am confident that these movies will continue to thrive, especially given the unsettling way this particular sequel ended. It was apparent that many in the auditorium shared my sentiments about the ending.
The Return of Officer Joel: The Cursed
I was thrilled to learn that Joel would be the only character from the previous film to return in the sequel. It’s always great to see the original cast members in a successful movie franchise. I’m curious about Joel’s fate – do you think his character’s story was short-lived, or did he manage to pass the curse on to someone else and save himself?
Skye Riley
I noticed something puzzling about Naomi Scott’s portrayal in the movie. She had numerous unexplained scars all over her body, and the film never delved into their origins. It’s perplexing when a character’s distinctive traits are repeatedly highlighted without any further exploration or explanation. This oversight detracts from the coherence of the storyline and leaves the audience with unanswered questions.
The Curse of Smiling
Have you ever wondered if we will ever unravel the mystery behind the infamous cursed smile? Despite our fascination with these films, the origin of this curse remains shrouded in mystery. All we know is that failure to pass on the curse results in being consumed by the host. Various myths and beliefs surround ways to break the curse. Do you think this enigma will ever be resolved? And would you even want it to be, considering how delightfully wicked and entertaining the films are?
Lewis Fregoli
How do you think the curse was passed onto Lewis? Were you able to figure this out? That is what perplexed me so much. He was the one who passed it to Skye in the film, but the Host is the one who killed him and took possession over his body and killed himself. Like I said, this entire series is sort of perplexing, but fun in another way at the same time. The way that Lewis offed himself on screen would make anyone vomit and just stare in disbelief, but Sky had no idea what she was in for while looking dead & directly straight at him!
“We Live In Time” … Embrace Life & Live Every Blissful Minute Vicariously!
Film Synopsis of “We Live in Time“→ An up-and-coming Chef Almut (Florence Pugh) and a recent divorcée (Andrew Garfield) find their lives forever changed when a chance encounter brings them both together in a decade-spanning, deeply moving romance!
We Live in Time
The expression “don’t stay stuck in the past but live in the moment” truly captures the essence of this movie. Without revealing too much, it skillfully navigates through different periods, depicting the remarkable love story of Almut & Tobias. Their journey through time underscores the importance of cherishing every moment and not letting any second go to waste. While I typically struggle to follow movies with time loops, this one managed to captivate my attention, and I believe it can do the same for you. Even though the film goes back and forth, the couple still can say that “we live in time.”
Making Memories in We Live in Time
When you realize what’s important to you, you have to decide for yourself. You’re the one who has to live with the consequences of your decisions. Almut wasn’t sure if she’d survive her diagnosis. She told Tobias she’d rather have six fun-filled months than 12 difficult ones. She wanted her life to mean something and be proud of what she accomplished. Do you think she was wrong for that, considering the possibility that she might not survive? Tobias and Almut spent those next 6 months fighting, loving, supporting, and embracing each other …all until ….
Are We Enough, Darling?
When Almut made a regrettable decision in the film, Tobias discovered it and a heated argument ensued. Despite this, their relationship was characterized by the ability to resolve disagreements before going to bed. They always talked it out, and the tension would ease, allowing them to move forward. It’s rare to find a connection like that in many relationships today, where a heated debate can lead to compromise and support. Tobias felt that he and their daughter were not enough for her when he discovered what she was doing, resulting in a heated exchange of words between them.
Ice Skating
With the ability to make impactful moves and illuminate the path for your desires, you can leave a lasting impression. Take your position, prepare yourself, and take action. That’s exactly what Almet did. Do you believe she fought and survived, or do you think she fought until the very end?
“Joker: Folie à Deux” … Sinister Smiles & Deadly Frowns
Film Synopsis of “Joker: Folie à Deux “→ After murdering Murray Franklin live on television, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is incarcerated in Arkham State Hospital, where he meets Harleen “Lee” Quinzel (Lady Gaga). The two fall madly in love and experience musical madness through their shared delusions, while Fleck’s followers start a movement to free him from Arkham!
The Joker Should Be Burned with A Fire Poker …
In the midst of the film, there’s a pivotal moment where Lee utters to Arthur in a dream, “let’s give the people what they want.” However, to the dismay of many, the highly anticipated sequel, Joker 2, failed to meet the lofty expectations. Instead of an enthralling adventure or action-packed sequel, it took an unforeseen turn and unfolded as more of a musical. The disappointment was palpable among those who had eagerly awaited the film’s release. It seemed as though the sentiment resonated universally – how could a film centered around a captivating villain like The Joker deviate into a musical? Speculation arose, with some attributing the unexpected shift to Lady Gaga’s potential influence, given her role as a singer.
Yet Another Musical Number
The film was marked by an abundance of singing and a scarcity of dialogue, leaving many feelings disheartened. Despite the disappointment, I remained in my seat, eager to witness the culmination of the film I had been eagerly anticipating. I will admit I enjoyed some of the musical numbers, but to sit there and watch Arthur’s dreams be musical numbers; his going to singing classes to help with his anxiety; and then to have the overall film be a musical and have the lines be singing to us and there is NO DC Movie OR character even that has ever in the history of films being made that I can recall ever becoming or even transitioning into a musical! Absurd!
Harleen “Lee Quinzel
Why didn’t they explore the storyline of the character as a doctor who falls in love with the Joker while being locked up in the Asylum? It worked well in Suicide Squad, so it would have been interesting to see it continued. The various interpretations of the Joker character can be unsettling, especially considering the iconic portrayal by Jack Nicholson, before Harley Quinn even existed. I must say, Lady Gaga’s portrayal of the antagonist was impressive. Her performance was brilliant in the film. However, it’s disappointing that the film we had been anticipating turned into a musical and didn’t meet our box office expectations.
Arthur Fleck’s Judgement
This entire sequel was based on Fleck being on trial for all the brutal murders that he violently committed in the first film and there were no killings done at all in this film. I know that I am ruining the film by divulging little pieces of information in this review for you and I am NEVER one to divulge information or give spoilers, but like I always say & I stick by it: if it was given in the trailers or I personally feel that it needs to be said because it is out there (and the horrible reviews of this film is DEFIENTELY out there), I will give some insight.
It’s A Joke That’s Finally Closed Out …
The way that the film ended was even horrible. I am sorry to even say or write this, but the film never should have even been made! Millions of people were very disappointed, and they had every right to be. This film will not be getting half of the funds back that they poured into it to make it a huge success and that is the sad part about it.
“White Bird” … Eagles Fly But Young Vibrant Children Can Change & Soar!
Film Synopsis of “White Bird“→ A prequel and sequel to the 2017 film “Wonder.” Struggling to fit in at his new school after being expelled for his treatment of Auggie Pullman, Julian (Bryce Gheisar) is visited by his grandmother (Helen Mirren) & is transformed by the story of her attempts to escape the Nazi-occupied France during World War II.
How Pure Is the White Bird?
The pure and striking beauty of white birds makes them a perfect symbol of peace and purity, often depicted near heavenly gates alongside angels. This movie captures the essence of purity and innocence and deserves to be embraced by people’s hearts and minds. Have you ever felt that way when you saw a white bird flying around you? What feelings came over you? Was it any of the ones listed in the above sentence? It had to be. The color “white” represents purity and innocence. There is no other way to see a white bird. To me, they are symbolic and represent something crucial. What do they mean and say to you?
The Art of Perfecting Care & Charity
Julian, a young boy, was not very kind to others, specifically Auggie from the 2017 film “Wonder,” which “White Bird” is a sequel to. Julian’s behavior towards Auggie caused him to feel ashamed and embarrassed at school. Julian realized that the same level of mistreatment can have consequences, and the hurtful feelings one inflicts on others can come back as payback or punishment. During a conversation with his grandmother, Julian expressed his desire to find a balance between being kind and assertive, without wanting to cause harm to anyone. He acknowledged the importance of embracing kindness as an integral part of his true and honest nature, without feeling defeated.
The Young Sara
When Sara was describing to her grandson the acts of kindness and the torment she endured as a Jewish person, and the selfless acts of the Beaumier Family to keep her safe from brutal attacks and killings, I truly believe there is no other story that can illustrate such a pure and true act of kindness. What this family did for Sara was nothing short of astounding and deeply moved me. It’s not every day that one witnesses such a miraculous act of kindness. I won’t go into detail, but you have to see it to believe it!
Kindness Works! Care Is There!!
Keep on soaring and never stop soaring! Fly and aim for the stars, all the bright and beautiful, majestic birds in the big, bright blue sky. Reach your dreams! That is what this movie demonstrated for me! Showing someone that you care is free. Show everyone love and humanity. The world is filled already with so much hatred and violence – let’s all try to aim to become better human beings and show more kindness to everyone as we show to ourselves!
