Film Synopsis of “Night Swim” → A young woman, Eve (Amélie Hoeferle) swims in her pool …at night …nonetheless is terrorized by an evil Spirit!
A Possessed, Darkened, & Haunted Swimming Pool
Sure! This sounds safe! NOT! While watching Night Swim from the very start, I had this entire film figured out within 20 minutes because I foresaw what was about to happen. I had seen so many other similar films like Night Swim such as one in particular: “Dark Water.” How many of you have heard of it before? The premise of the movie sounds very exciting. I will give the creative writing team that …having a looming dark, eerie presence living in the pool capturing innocent people and luring them in to kill them. It has quite the appeal to make any moviegoer want to see the film who loves scary movies, but the film falls short, dives, and does not recover in my eyes! The movie could have been way better and there were not even any scary parts to make me want to cover up my eyes or even be on the edge of my seat, honestly.
Is It Just the Night Swim Imagination of Elliott Waller?
When you have your son or daughter come to you with such a wild imagination – or could be a vivid one and inform you that they are hearing strange voices coming from within your new family pool …what would YOU personally do? Would YOU believe them or think that are being foolish? Paranoid? Delusional? Or what? Would YOU take them seriously? It never ceases to amaze me how resilient children are nowadays; how perceptive & alert they are at realizing there is a problem more rapidly than those of adults; their very own parents included. Elliott was the sibling who sought to find proof that something was wrong. No matter how frightened he was, that little guy was determined to prove to everyone in his home that he was not losing his marbles and that something was not right with that pool!
Ray & Eve Waller’s Night Swim
You would think that the pool would be a relaxing place for a day or night swim, but that looming dark entity was always in the pool whether it was day or night. At first, when Ray was pulled into the pool, it did something to him (which I will not divulge) …and then after some time, it did something to him again. Eve’s night swim went a little differently, but they both experienced something very peculiar while swimming in the pool, but the pool has a mind of its very own! I felt as if the pool was an invitation for death and people in the neighborhood, and all of the news articles printed about the missing persons surrounding the mystery with the pool should have warned any potential buyers who wanted to purchase or even rent the home should have been forewarned of its haunting!
Marco!!!!!! POLO!!!!!!
I’ll admit that I was expecting MORE …way more from the film than what I saw simply because of the advertisements for the film that James Wan was involved in the project and it was from the minds and writers of M3gan & such! I assume that is what sucks you into films …to broadcast the most illuminating producers and writers to make you think something will not sink and drown like this film but not every well-known writer or Director will make a successful film. But, if I had to answer my favorite part of the film, it would have to be the part shown in the trailer where Izzy yells out, “Marco!” and the dark entity in the pool replies with ….” Polo!”
LOVING the NEW design,Bro! Also, definitely agree with you on the rating for the movie. It’s worth at least watching once. Also 100% agree that I expected so much more from this movie not only knowing that it’s from BH but from James Wan as well. But, I guess it is what it is makes sense why it was released in January. But yeah that part about Marco Polo was probably one of the better parts. That, and when mom was trying to fight off all the entities near the end.
Yeah – you don’t want to mess with a mother when she is focused on protecting her kids and her man! It was worth a watch …at least once. They overloaded us with the trailer for darn sure to ensure we saw it! They drowned us with it!!!
LUV the NEW cleaner look, and really easy to read! Disappointing to hear that “Night Swim” didn’t hold water to the trailer, but will probably just add it to a Saturday on the couch movie time. Thanks for the review – and hey you can’t win ‘em all right?
Right! Sink, drown, or swim. This one sank. I would not say it completely drowned. That’s why I gave it a “C” for effort! Just because you advertise …as
advertise …advertise does not mean it will soar and float to the top and stay there! Thanks for loving the new layout! 🏊♂️
This def seems like a commonly told tale. I’ve only actually seen the trailer once, so I don’t know much about it. From your write up, I’ll be waiting to stream!😂 So – thank YOU for saving me big bucks at the theatre!😂
My pleasure! That’s what I’m here for: to save people from taking a dive and drowning!!!! 🏊♂️🏊♂️🏊♂️
So appreciated!!
For you: ❤️💜💚💛💚💜❤️💛💚💜❤️💛💚💜❤️
