What’s “Aquaman II: The Lost Kingdom” About?

Aquaman

Aquaman (Jason Momoa) balances his duties as king and as a member of the Justice League, all while planning a wedding. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is on the hunt for Atlantean tech to help rebuild his armor. Orm (Patrick Wilson) plots to escape his Atlantean prison!

Aquaman. WHO Is He?

Picsart 23 12 19 21 47 35 658 minArthur was a GREAT man. A man with great abilities and talents and wanted to share those gifts with the world or someone who was on his level. He wanted a brother and when Orm was locked up for betraying his Kingdom he had no one to share that with until he had his son, Arthur Jr.  It was so funny to see a big, strong Jason Momoa holding a tiny baby, but at the same time being a Protector. We get to see him as the King of Atlantis and the Father: the Almighty Protector, but once Black Manta enters the picture for his revenge and it includes his bloodline, how far do you think Aquamna will go to protect everything that he holds dear to him?

Queens of Atlantis: Queen Mera & Queen Atlanna

Picsart 23 12 19 21 45 47 045 minThe new Queen of Atlantis was not seen a lot in the film and I was rather disappointed by that, but I could also understand that given all the controversy with her former beau, Johnny Depp. I felt as if her scenes were either cut out or used the CGI method. They should have cut her out altogether from the way that she was used in the film, candidly speaking. I mean let’s be real here – how can your role in the movie be the Queen of Atlantis and you not even be seen half of the movie? Seriously? Amber Heard needed to be heard and seen in the film and I know that there was an outpouring of love and support for her online about this! How are you feeling about this and her small role in the film?

Black Manta versus Aquaman

Picsart 23 12 19 21 46 51 478 minThis character was awesome and wanted revenge for his father’s death from the flashback that was shown. It never surprises me how people in the world today will hold onto bitterness and sour feelings rather than forgive and forget but I assume that some wounds run so deep that it’s just not in some people’s nature to forgive let alone forget even so that they do not allow hatred and bitterness seep in and take control over their lives and ruin the good nature that is in them. Aquaman tried to salvage Black Manta’s soul, but do you think that he was successful?

Orm …a Brother This Time?

Picsart 23 12 19 21 50 20 926 minI felt that the film was going to be a bit predictable in this aspect of it. I wanted Aquaman and Orm to work together which we all knew that they were going to do from the trailers and become brothers because that is what their mother wanted and I believe that deep down that is what Arthur wanted as well and I am glad that I got to see that happen. When Arthur found Orm in that prison and he was looking all pale and like a skinny and useless person and he needed water, I felt as if that was not even Patrick Wilson! I mean special effects and makeup made him up damn good! But then when that water went underneath him he rose with a si pack and Aquaman said HIGH FIVE …it was ON!!! During the holidays, that is what it is all about love, togetherness, and family unity. You can either sink or swim in the water – which do you prefer to do?

You never cease to amaze me with your doses of reality in your reviews! I agree it sucks that they cut Amber; but it also goes to show in today’s world you have to be careful with who you are as a person; live life with LOVE… NOT hate, peace NOT controversy, hope NOT doubt. I wonder if this will be it for Aquaman…..

    • Well …you can call my reviews predictable because I will always keep the mood & tone the exact same – spoiler free & loving/caring! Yes, I think this will be it, honestly, but I can’t see anyone else playing the role besides Momoa! 🌊🌊🌊🌊

Another GREAT review as always. As far as for Amber, that’s a touchy subject because here you got death who all he was “accused” and immediately he was prematurely cut from his films, and especially “Pirates” and “Fantastic Beasts”. Yet the courts found Amber guilty, and they still keep her in the film. All I’m saying is, they need to be just in their decision making if you’re going to do one thing to one person you need to do the same to the other. But I agree it was definitely odd seeing her for I believe it was only 11 lines that she had. Jason absolutely killed it in the movie and it was a perfect amount of action and nice blend of comedy. Definitely a very impressive sequel. FYI – hope you go back to a rating system for your reviews!

    • I feel that the punishment should fit the crime. What happens to one person should not always nessacarily happen to the other. If both are found guilty, the severity is what matters there & not the same punishment. But, the legal system has not caught up yet & I doubt that it ever will with the crimes that are being committed each and every day.
