What’s “Wonka” About?

With dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate, a young and poor Willy Wonka (Timothee Chalamet) discovers that the industry is run by a cruel cartel of greedy chocolatiers!

You’ve Never Had Chocolate!!!! WHAT!!!!!

This had to have been the BEST line in the entire movie when Wonka screamed this question to Noodle when he was talking to her about his hopes and aspirations for having his very own chocolate business making his very own unique and very decadent chocolate deliciousness! We all can agree that chocolate can be a weakness for millions of us who indulge in it for savory and sweet occasions, but for the Chief of Police in the film, it was NOT a very good idea to have more than 80 boxes. That poor man could not just try one … he had to try them all until he got as wide as the movie screen! HAHAHA!!!

Reading The FINE Print

There’s a very valuable lesson to be learned in reading the fine print where Willie is concerned in this portion of the film where he ran out of his money and needed a place to sleep. He could not read and he allowed his kindness and his vulnerability to shine, which is not a terrible thing, but in today’s society, you need to know WHOM to show it to and WHEN to show it to others because if you allow yourself, like Willie Wonka, to show it all the time to everyone – people can see that they can very easily take advantage of that, and you, and the consequences of having such a gracious heart can land you in predicaments that you NEVER even saw coming like the ones Willie landed into all because he assumed he stumbled across another harmless and innocent Soul who wanted to help him freely, but had other bad and ill-willed intentions.

Your Tiny Enemy Can Quite Possibly Be ….Your Footstool

I know that you all have heard that saying before from the scriptures. I feel that I can compare this to Wonka and Oompa-Loompa. They began as enemies and then they ended as what …dare I say it? Partners, even friends? Yes, this CAN happen – and it can happen IN TODAY’S WORLD IF we allow ourselves to be open to love, forgiveness, and most importantly – compromise which is what Willie and Oompa had. Just because someone is your enemy does not mean that they need to stay that forever, not unless one of you takes that leap and decides that you no longer want to continue on that path of being enemies and finding another path; a peaceful and respectable path and that was one Willie always strived to stay on!

What’s The Golden, Sweet, Chocolatey Secret Momma?

“When the time is right for you to share your chocolate with the world …I will be right there beside you!” That is what Willie’s mother said and he believed her; believed in her words and teaching because he loved his mother and she taught him everything that he knows about chocolate and love. But, the one thing that Wonka did not know was the secret to what makes chocolate so dang good. Was he ever going to find out? He did and he had the answer all along. I think that you know what it is, and it’s heart-warming – but I will not tell you as I do not give spoilers in any of my reviews, but let’s just say the answer is so …. Christmas and warm, and sweet and full of ______________!!!!
