“Fantastic Four: First Steps” is Never So Complex

The Fantastic Four: First Steps” Plot: Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, the Fantastic Four (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, & Joseph Quinn) must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson), and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).

How Fantastic Are These Four?

I entered the theater with high hopes for Fantastic Four, and I must say, the movie surpassed all my expectations! As I settled into my seat, I couldn’t help but wish I had chosen to experience it in 4DX rather than the standard Dolby format. Ever since discovering the immersive thrill of 4DX, which engages all the senses with its moving seats and environmental effects, I’ve craved that exhilarating experience for certain films, especially those in the Marvel universe.

The four actors who brought these iconic superheroes to life were nothing short of extraordinary. Each performance was captivating, but I was particularly taken by Vanessa Kirby’s portrayal of Sue Storm. She embodied the character with such depth and nuance that I couldn’t help but view her as the “main” character of the story. Sue Storm laid the groundwork for the narrative, establishing the emotional core and setting the stage for the other three heroes to shine. Her presence was magnetic, and it truly elevated the film for me.

Four

Sunday Dinner and ….

As the four of them gathered around the dinner table, an air of anticipation filled the room. Sue and Reed were trying their hardest to keep the joyful news of their impending parenthood under wraps, wanting to savor the moment for themselves a little longer. However, their secret was unintentionally revealed when the word “late” slipped out during casual conversation, sending a wave of excitement rippling through the group. The expression on Reed’s face was both amused and surprised, reflecting the lighthearted spirit of the evening.

Amidst the laughter, Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, chimed in with his usual humor, cracking jokes that had everyone in stitches. His witty remarks, combined with his lovable, rock-like exterior, brought a unique charm to the dinner. It’s both amusing and ironic to think that Reed’s best friend had transformed into this formidable layer of orange rock; it illustrated the unpredictability of their lives as superheroes.

Being Purely Fantastic By Being Simply Human!

What truly captivates me is the profound notion that Ben, despite not being blood-related to Reed, Sue, or Johnny, embodies the essence of family more than many who are genetically connected. The concept of family transcends mere biology; it encompasses the deep, emotional bonds formed through shared experiences, struggles, and collective triumphs. This idea is beautifully illustrated in the way these four individuals support one another. They live together, creating a nurturing environment that serves as a unified front against the myriad challenges they face.

Making It Fantastic!

Through adventures that test their limits, they tackle immense obstacles, each battle reinforcing their bond as they work cohesively to protect the universe from any threat. It is in these moments of teamwork and resilience that their connection shines brightly, revealing a true sense of camaraderie that is rooted not in shared DNA but in mutual respect, understanding, and love. This spirit of togetherness defines their relationships and highlights the remarkable strength that can arise from chosen family. their extraordinary bond.

  1. I went in with NO expectations because I had no experience with the comic books or the movies. I really enjoyed the movie and generally agree with your review. I especially liked the depiction of family and maternal love!

    1. Thank you – I do try & aim for an overall common theme in my reviews when I write them so that hopefully people who read my work can feel the sincerity in my words & know I don’t just watch movies … I hear them, feel them, and analyze them. They aren’t made just for pleasure. 🙏🏼

  2. They need to spice these up with raunchy, steamy, sex scenes! Might improve views after 20 years of the same stuff!

  3. Loved this review, and looking forward to seeing it! Have you heard of X-Screen? Now… that looks amazing! One thing that’s great is …theatre is back baby!

    1. Actually I have, but I am a tad bit conflicted between that and 4DX. Screen X and that are not the same thing, right? All these new collaborations togethers are appearing! I do know I will try 4DX while in Florida this November and pretty excited about that! Hope that comes here or wherever I live!
