“Jurassic World: REBIRTH” Tries To Experiment Here On Earth

Jurassic World: Rebirth” Plot: Five years post-Jurassic World Dominion, an expedition (Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Johnathan Bailey, & Rupert Friend) braves isolated equatorial regions to extract DNA from three massive prehistoric creatures for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.

To Leave …or NOT To Leave

We are setting off on this journey three years after the last film’s release in 2022, Jurassic World: Dominion, which many rightly deemed one of the weaker entries in the Jurassic Park franchise. From the outset, expectations for this new film were low, particularly given the disappointing response to Dominion. There was insufficient groundwork laid for a strong narrative foundation. While the original cast members made their farewells in the previous film, this new installment boldly charts a new course. With a fresh main cast, the story takes us to an island where dinosaurs, unable to be contained, have been abandoned to fend for themselves.

Team Zora

Zora Bennett is such an intriguing character, isn’t she? Scarlett truly embodies a strong and determined presence in the film! As a covert operations expert, her character showcases a remarkable blend of street smarts and savvy decision-making. She fearlessly ventures into the field, demonstrating a commitment to getting the job done. Her resourcefulness is vital for securing the samples needed by ParkerGenix, a pharmaceutical company. Zora was all in it for the money that she would be making from this, but as the film goes on, she learns something very valuable … what do you think she does or at least chooses?

Money or A Clear Conscience?

These crucial samples, taken from living dinosaurs, are intended for developing a treatment for heart disease. It’s fascinating to see how medical breakthroughs continue to progress, even with the use of materials from animals and endangered species, to help combat diseases and save lives. While the idea may raise ethical concerns, it’s essential to consider that if treatments receive FDA approval and undergo rigorous testing, they could potentially make a significant difference. As Dr. Loomis wisely mentioned in the film, access to medications should be equitable, benefiting everyone rather than just a select few.

The Rebirth?

Overall, I found the film to be quite enjoyable. It felt familiar, following the same path as the previous installments, with just one notable difference: the core premise focused on saving lives through the extraction of samples from dinosaurs. This theme of preserving human life is truly important. However, I can’t shake the feeling that I was often reminded of films like “Jaws” or “Deep Blue Sea,” with the action involving swimming dinosaurs, boats capsizing, and the tension of characters facing danger. It had more of a Godzilla or shark movie atmosphere rather than the classic Jurassic Park/World essence, and I say this with honesty.
