What’s “Insidious: The Red Door” About?

Insidious

Set 10 years after the ending of the events of the second Insidious film, Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) heads east to drop his son, Dalton (Ty Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-league University. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both!

Facing Your Fears …Is A Powerful Strength

Wall Photo Frame 1688346158593 minInsidious has been a film that’s been in our world & lives for as long as I or we even – for that matter can recall. The definition of the title of the word insidious means, “proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects.” This is what these films are centered around facing your deepest fears. That is something that Josh Lambert had to face in the previous 4 films and in this film, Josh has to face his deepest fears to save his son, Dalton. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable and sensitive doesn’t mean that you are a soft or weak-minded individual.

Evil cannot win! We Won’t Let Them!!!

Wall Photo Frame 1688346122622 minEvil seeks out the weak, but the difference between weak individuals, and good individuals know how to show their strength while still showing signs of goodness. Evil beings are those who live solely to seek after those people whom they can feed off of people’s kindness for weakness. People who use this path in life, I truly feel sorry for them. Evil not only exists in the Supernatural; they are all around us. Families cannot battle storms divided – they can conquer them together and UNITED! That’s what I appreciate about this specific film – the family is separated because the family is divorced, but when they need to come together – they can …and they DO!

A Strained Relationship …Repaired?

Dalton Wall Photo Frame 1688345826277 min& Josh had a strained relationship the entire movie – so do you think that they were able to rectify the damage to their relationship that Josh created? I loved the family dynamic of Josh, Renai, and Dalton because even though they all were connected and played an instrumental role in saving Dalton and each other; Josh & Renai were divorced but were still able to be civil with one another. Some relationships can weather some heavy storms while others can’t. In the film, Dalton gave his father the tough love, and wake-up call that he needed to help him & their family! The evils that try to infiltrate our lives are just pawns to try to turn good people on the bad side of the world. Remember this: You are safe. You are protected. You are loved. Believe that! God has you – NOT EVIL!

Our Past Defines Our Future

InsidiousOf course, our parents would LOVE for us to be better than they are or were. I’m certain that you’ve all heard this saying before! All of the Lambert Family Members in Insidious had to go back to their past experiences to repair Dalton’s present. In closing, our past shapes and molds us into who and what we are. We need to closely examine ourselves and what we have done in the past if we want a bigger and brighter future! I learned the same lesson from this film as I have from every single horror film that is created because the objective is ALWAYS the same – NEVER give into evil or temptation! Be strong and prevail! Every individual has the free agency to make their own choices in this life and this world …just ensure YOU are making the right choices and for the RIGHT reasons! Insidious teaches you that crucial lesson!
