Film Synopsis of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice“→ After a family tragedy, three Deetz family members return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice (Micheal Keaton), Lydia’s (Winona Ryder) life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega) accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife!
The Green Juice Is on the Loose!!!
I was thrilled to finally see a sequel to Beetlejuice after 27 long years. It was amazing to see Michael Keaton back as the infamous Antagonist of the film, looking almost exactly the same as he did in the 1988 version, thanks to the incredible makeup and prosthetics. It felt like the Juice had never aged a day! The fact that some of the original cast members returned was a wonderful nod to the past, although I was disappointed that Geena Davis didn’t have a significant role in the sequel. Watching this movie on the big screen was a delightful experience, bringing back nostalgic memories of seeing the original film when I was a kid. I can’t help but wonder if others felt the same way.
Don’t Say His Name!
We all remember what happens when we say …you know what …you know how many times! LOL! When you know who appeared for the first time, it was like Deja vu for me. Keaton really played this role perfectly. I’m not particularly sure if this role was crafted for him like Batman was, but he really has fun with it being outrageous and just having the time of his merry green life with it. By not saying his name, he stays dormant and in a hellish purgatory waiting area – but we learn something about his past in this film that we did not know about in the first film, and that brings us to ….
Delores Juice
Monica Bellucci really played a spectacular role as Mrs. Juice! I loved the introduction of her and how the film incorporated her role and how she came to be placed in the film and why. Mr. Juice needed Lydia. That is why movies make sequels and prequels to tell the backstories of films because they truly never know if the films will be a success or not – then if they are, they can easily as they say “fill in the blanks” with details that left the audiences with a lot of questions and Delores was one of those questions that got filled and in Delores’ case – stapled.
The Deetz’
Will we get to see them again in another 27 years? Will it be sooner than that? Is this the end for them? Well, when you see the ending of the film, you will quickly find out the answer to these questions for yourself. What would you personally like to see happen? Are you ready for a Baby Green Juice?
I’m so freaking excited for this!!! Definitely will see in theatre! Love Michael Keaton AND so many of the cast. Yayyyyy!
A lot of people are bashing this sequel, but honestly, I didn’t find anything wrong with it.
I’m hoping to see it when we get back from PA. Crowds should die down by Oct 1!!
Oh, yeah! Way down by then! Hope its still in theaters by then! 🤞
I agree with some critics/fans who say that there was just a lot going on in this movie, maybe too many storylines with not enough focus on the interesting ones (we didn’t see nearly enough Monica Belluci). But overall, I was pleased. Tim Burton’s dark, Gothic, lush visuals were beautiful. I absolutely loved that they played the original ‘Carrie’ theme music during a certain scene.
Oh, yeah! So did I, Matt! I mean with what you said about the song – I loved that blast from the past! I wish there was more Belluci to see as well. Thanks for posting – again!
