Film Synopsis of “A Quiet Place: Day One“→ Taking place before the first installment film, a woman named Sam (Lupita Nyong’o) must survive an invasion in New York City by bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic sound hearing!
The Quiet Place: Where It All Starts From
I found the introduction of the film intriguing. I was wondering where the writing team would take the prequel, showing us how the world got to be the silent place it is. When I saw the first Quiet Place film, I couldn’t help but wonder how a pregnant woman could give birth without making any noise. Childbirth is extremely painful, so it seems impossible for a woman not to scream during it, right? I was always curious about the backstory of this and then there comes this movie. I was disappointed that the movie failed to address the origins of the monsters, the events that led to their attacks, and what specifically triggered their aggression. While noise seems to play a role, I was left wondering about the underlying cause or event that initiated these terrifying encounters.
Samira & Eric
I was so impressed by the decision to cast Lupita as the protagonist in the film. She brought such charisma and an undeniable presence to the role. Her character, struggling with mental instability and facing a limited time, was a revelation that only unfolded towards the end of the film. Her encounter with Eric became a turning point, revealing the beauty and resilience of life. Their connection felt like destiny, as they became each other’s guiding lights in ways that words can’t quite capture. Their mutual support and encouragement were palpable throughout the film, demonstrating that actions truly do speak louder than words. it comes to these two very unique characters.
Frodo
The cat was a pivotal character in the film. Initially, it is really hard to see the cat as nothing but an aggravating nuisance, but as the film progresses onward, you can see that art is very necessary for the aspect of survival instincts! I will not lie to you, but I wanted to tell Samira to go ahead and do some stupid stuff and risk your life for that dumb stupid cat and the other thing that Samira wanted so desperately. But I will not spoil it and give it away as to what she wanted more than anything. Sometimes in life, if we want something bad enough, and it’s meant for us, it will always come back if it’s meant for us.
The Quiet Place: Day One Closing
I found the introduction of the film to be genius, but as I stated in the opening paragraph of my review. I don’t think that the movie really and truly answered the burning question millions of people wanted to know – what and why did this happen to the world to make everything, and everyone go silent? That is what disappointed me the most with the movie; I never found solace in the movie because I felt as if I was just watching another “quiet place” film. If this was supposed to be a prequel to tell the backstory; I am sorry to say this, but they failed miserably at it.
Ohhhh. Noooooo. I’ve been waiting to see this????. I’m going next week. I’m a HUGE fan of the movies and John Krasinki’s writing. Well, hell. ????
You’re going to be EXTRA quiet, aren’t you?
Lolol shhhh!
