“A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” Plot: An imaginative tale of two strangers (Margot Robbie & Colin Farrell) and the unbelievable journey that connects them.
Do You Want To Go On This Journey is the Question.
There was an enormous amount of hype and anticipation surrounding this movie, particularly with the release of numerous trailers. Many people in America were led to believe it was a straightforward romantic film, but it turned out to be something much more nuanced. I would label it a “dramedy,” an engaging mix of drama and comedy that challenges traditional expectations. The film intentionally leaves several questions unanswered, inviting viewers to actively fill in the gaps themselves.
David & Sarah
Take, for instance, the moment when David visits the rental car service; at that point, I realized just how misguided my assumptions were about where this journey would take both him and the audience. Ultimately, the film is a powerful exploration of David and Sarah as they navigate their pasts in a symbolic quest for personal growth. It masterfully illustrates their transformation into newer, more authentic versions of themselves, making for a truly compelling cinematic experience.
Take A GPS To Your Heart …
Do you ever find it ironic when people assert they’ve discovered their one true love, or when they echo the endlessly romantic phrase about having “a roadmap to my heart”? I can certainly appreciate how the GPS element weaves into the journeys of both Sarah and David. Each of them embarked on their own quests for love, only to encounter setbacks and disappointments. The GPS systems in their respective cars served as metaphors, mirroring their evolving desires and inner conflicts. Though the film introduced this concept in a rather unconventional manner, it ultimately delivered a deeply touching and beautifully romantic narrative that resonated with audiences.
It’s Big! It’s Definitely Bold!
By focusing on the powerful concepts of “big” and “bold,” this journey reveals how David and Sarah’s past experiences molded them into the individuals they never wanted to be. Their story is nothing short of courageous! They had to embrace a fuller version of themselves to clearly see where they were in life and to understand their deep desire for love, light, laughter, and, above all, stability.
Sounds like this will be a good movie for me to check out solo. I haven’t had one of those in a good while. Thanks for another great review.
You are more than welcome; its not “R” rated and I know you are the R-Queen! LOL
You lost me when you said GPS…. I’m gonna pass on this one!
It seems that you might have missed the deeper symbolism behind the GPS aspect of the film. Are you truly unaware of its significance, or has it left you feeling completely lost?
Ohhhh, now I get it. Thanks
You do?
A map to your heart…
You’ve got it!
Thanks for this review. I know I want to see the movie, but wasn’t sure if it was one I would see in the theater. I’m still a little on the fence, but if I have a free day I might make this one of my picks.
This movie is definitely worth watching, whether you choose to enjoy it in the comfort of your own home or on the big screen in a theater. I wholeheartedly recommend it as a must-see at least once; I’m confident it will be an experience you won’t want to miss!
